Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor. The position provides care for adult medical-surgical patients, including those with chronic respiratory and cardiac conditions, total joint procedures, hysterectomies, and general postoperative needs. The unit supports collaborative care with telemetry monitoring and a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); at least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel nursing experience.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Patient assignments generally range from 1:6 to 1:9, depending on staffing. The unit cares for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, total joint procedures, hysterectomies, and general postoperative needs. Telemetry is available on the unit, with registered nurses monitoring and interpreting strips. No drip titration is required. Respiratory equipment may include continuous positive airway pressure and bilevel positive airway pressure for patients who use it at home. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with holiday rotation. Unit orientation includes an initial introductory shift followed by two 12-hour shifts.
