Pros
My recruiters are awesome, I've dealt with some sub-par and dishonest ones in the past with other companies, I've worked with Jan and Tonya for over a year and very pleased. Timesheets are easy to input. Jobs are easy to see/find with the AMN app. Rates are competitive, some facilities I've gotten extremely high paying rates, other facilities more middle of the road, but never a rate that was disappointing.
Cons
The credentialing specialists are a real headache to work with. That's the only real downside to the company.

Pros
Pay (sometimes).
Cons
The only reason I’m writing this is to save other first time travelers from making the same mistakes that I did. Let me tell you about AMN. My recruiter (whose first name starts with “A” and ends with “dam” as in “I don’t give A-dam”) asked if I wanted to be auto-submitted to facilities. Being a newby, I had no idea what an auto-submit or auto-offer was so I said yes go ahead. He calls me the next day and says “Congrats, you got the job!” My first question is “What job? Where? Etc” He was very scant on details - just the basics: pay, shift, hours, etc. With very little to go on about where I was headed, I told him I would think about it. So this recruiter (we’ll call him “A”) says he needs an answer soon. The next day, he calls me back and says “Okay, I’m going to need an answer RIGHT NOW. What’s it going to be?” I was at work so I told him, “Well if you need an answer right this minute, then the answer is going to be a ‘NO’.” Recruiter A didn’t like that response at all. Completely baffled, he stammers and was very upset that I wouldn’t take the mystery position right then and there. Another time, Recruiter A sets me up with an interview. I get halfway through the interview when the poor lady on the other end blurts out, “You understand this is an X-ray position, right?” I said, “Um, I had no idea. I told my recruiter I was looking for a CT tech position.” It was a very awkward conversation after that. In another instance, I told Recruiter A what my pay range that I was currently at (I had done one previous assignment). When he heard how much I was making, he literally told me “not to get used to” being paid that much and tried to convince me that taking lower pay was still good for me. Not knowing any better, I finally allowed “A” to talk me into an assignment that he found. Boy, was that a mistake! The place he sent me to was brutally busy and not at all what I was looking for. That was the last time I would work for him or his agency. Overall, he was pushy, aggressive, and temperamental if I wasn’t agreeable to everything he offered. I mean, who has to do all the work here? Not “A”. In my opinion, AMN is too big and doesn’t have your best interests at heart. RUN don’t walk if offered an assignment. Go with a smaller outfit that might actually care about your needs.
