I explained that my time is money to Tom and instead of him being respectful of that he ended the conversation. I have been doing contract work for 10yrs and have more success on my own. Part of why I don't like to waste my time talking to recruiters on the phone anymore is because I have more success on my own, and have yet to have a recruiter get me work. My experience, training and work ethic get me hired not the recruiter. The recruiting industry needs to change as I get pounded with hundreds of emails, calls and texts daily. I'm sure as a person Tom is very nice but as a recruiter I will not work with him and see that he doesn't have any empathy or compassion for what we nurses go through with recruiters on a daily basis. If you aren't willing to understand and just end a conversation because it didn't go your way then you aren't worthy of making money from my credibility and contract work.
