About

Nursing experts are often consulted by attorneys to participate in the review of medical records or to provide expert testimony in court cases. For nurses seeking opportunities to work outside the traditional healthcare setting, working as a consultant requires a strong knowledge base of the nursing specialty and attention to detail.

The Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) certification is relevant for nurses looking to apply their nursing knowledge and skills to partner with a legal team in cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, and worker’s compensation.

This certification is offered by the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants (NACLNC), which is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation.

Course Format

The certification exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions.
