Team Coordinator, Registered Nurse, Evening Shift

Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, VA is hiring a Team Coordinator/Assistant Manager, Registered Nurse for the CardiacStroke Unit. Full-time: 40 hours Evening Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Management Incentive Plan Requirements: Registered Nurse BSN - 4-Year RN-Bachelor's Level Degree Five years clinical nursing experience required Some critical care and management experience preferred. Team Coordinator shares the 24/7 responsibility to assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Supervises patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, provides high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience; assists manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinates the purchasing and payroll processes; serves as a technical/clinical resource to team members; and performs work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team. May coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team. Utilizes effective communication/ interpersonal skills and is able to adapt leadership style to support achieving department goals and objectives. Unit Description: This is a 24-bed Medical-Surgical Cardiac Stroke Unit where we care for patients at a med-surg level of care with telemetry monitoring. The patient population reflects a variety of diagnoses to include cardiac care such as heart failure, stable myocardial infarction, chest pain, and patients requiring cardiac diagnostic testing. This unit is the dedicated stroke downgrade unit which includes collaboration with IMC, ICU, and our stoke navigator. All nurses will maintain a current NIHSS certification and stroke training.
