Clinical Compliance Nurse


General Description The Clinical Compliance Nurseis a critical member of our Clinical Compliance team who assists in maintaining clinical compliance within our Federally Qualified Health Centers. Under the supervision of the Clinical Compliance Manager, activities include but are not limited to, going to our FQHCs to observe and assess clinical workflows, conducting and documenting reviews according to specific protocols, guidelines, and criteria, working with the clinical training team to orient new staff to address the clinical requirements of the role, and participating in audit activity to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards. Essential Functions * Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the following: * Patient-Centered Medical Home * Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center (LCHD/CHC) * Standards for Joint Commission Accreditation and Certification * Bureau of Primary Health Care Uniform Data Systems Measures * Other federal/state requirements as needed Develops, updates, and conducts clinical audits based on current standards, protocols, guidelines, and grant criteria.Demonstrates the ability to communicate findings to Clinical Compliance and programmatic leadership effectively.Conducts and documents clinical process and chart reviews according to specific standards, protocols, guidelines, and grant criteria.Participates in preparation for Joint Commission and Accreditation surveys and other regulatory audits as applicable.Analyzes available statistical data and other reports related to clinical processes and performance to identify gaps and make recommendations based on best practices in healthcare.Assists with identifying best practices and partners with Education and Training to help meet clinical training needs as they relate to current standards.Develops and maintains working knowledge of the electronic health record for conducting chart audits in accordance with applicable standards.Demonstrates ability to identify and assess clinical risk and safety concerns.Demonstrates the ability to perform mathematical concepts required in statistical analysis.Demonstrates critical thinking skills in collaboration with others as appropriate.Develops and maintains a basic knowledge of services available at the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Centers (LCHD/CHC).Develops and maintains a basic awareness of the Chronic Care Model Processes to reduce Health Disparities within our communities.Demonstrates knowledge of and encourages adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.Participates in quality improvement activities to assess, monitor, and improve program services.Develops and participates in mandatory clinical drills, staff meetings, and other in-service training.Reports all unusual occurrences involving patients' and co-workers' safety and well-beingdirectly to the supervisor and/or Safety Officer.Performs duties in a prioritized, organized, and orderly manner to maximize clinic efficiency and productivity.Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required * Illinois licensure as aRegistered Nurseor * Verification of application upon hire and completion of Illinois licensure by reciprocity within six months of the initial date of employment. * Verification of application for State Board licensing as a Registered Nurse with successful completion within six months of the initial date of employment. One year of direct patient care experience is desired. Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office/Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic health records.Ability to maintain and keep records.
