Wound Care Registered Nurse

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Coordinates and provides age-specific care for persons with wounds including but not limited to pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, diabetic ulcers, trauma, STRN, skin tears, etc . The RN will also educate staff, families and patients and the community about the specialized care relating to wounds and dressings. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Data will also be collected for care improvement opportunities. Education: Graduation from an AS, diploma, or baccalaureate degree nursing curriculum from an approved School of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse. Experience: Three to five years direct patient care experience required, Prior experience involving complex wound management/skin care is desirable but not essential. Licenses/Certificates: RN license Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and PALS certifications
