Physician Assistant 1, Pediatric Critical Care Unit


The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant 1, Pediatric Critical Care Unit. the successful candidate will: * Be responsible for providing patient care to children admitted to the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PICU), NS43. * Perform admission history and physical exam on all patients. * Follow all assigned patients in the PICU and recognize both gross and subtle clinical changes. * Choose appropriate tests and procedures (L.P., starting IV, blood drawing, etc.). * Maintain currency and closure of medical records. * Provide patient care duties, as assigned. * Perform operational duties, as assigned. Required Qualifications: * New York State Physician Assistant Licensure. * Physician Assistant Certificate. * 1+ year of experience caring for hospitalized patients. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree preferred. Work Schedule: Variable Days; Variable Hours Salary Grade/Rank: SL-5 Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: An approved COVID-19 vaccination.
