Registered Nurse - Pre-Op/PACU (.80 FTE)


Registered Nurse, Pre-Operative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit- Olympia Orthopaedic Associates Location: Olympia, WA 98502 Job Type: .80 Full-time Schedule: Multiple scheduling options are available. The surgery center is primarily open Monday-Friday, but occasional Saturdays may be worked. The Pre-Op/PACU team rotates on-call, and some over-night shifts may be required depending on patient needs and recovery time. Pay: $40.77- $68.85 per hour (Pay is determined based on years of experience) Summary of benefits: OOA covers part or all of the cost for Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-term Disability Insurance. Employees are eligible to participate in a 401k plan with company matching. Flex spending plans, uniform allowances, and an Employee Assistance Program available as well. Registered Nurse Job Duties: Pre-Operative - * Administering care to patients prior to surgery. * Administer pre-surgery medication under the guidance of the physician and or physician assistant. * Evaluate and access admission documents, identify emergency procedures, and adhere to necessary pre-operation policies and procedures. PACU- * Monitors (heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and respiratory rate) * Treating symptoms of postoperative nausea and vomiting * Managing post-operative pain * Treating post-anesthetic shivering * Monitoring surgical site(s) for excessive bleeding, discharge, swelling, hematoma, redness, etc. Registered Nurse Job Requirements: * IV Therapy experience (starting, discontinuing IVs, and administering medication). * Graduate of an accredited State Board of Nursing program. Current Registered Nurse in the State of Washington required. Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire. Registered Nurse Physical Demands: * Must have the ability to tolerate long periods of sitting, walking, or standing; lift equipment and supplies between 25 and 50 pounds; assist with lifting and position patients weighing up to 200 pounds.
