Job Summary

Collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.

*40 bed MICU – 2:1 ratio
*Combination Medical and Surgical, Sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, respiratory, post op pancreas, general surgery, Put in arterial lines, CRRT by themselves
*Tenured and supportive leadership team.
*Magnet Facility and Comprehensive stroke center.
*Intensivist coverage 24/7
*Second highest acuity ICU; comparable acuity as TMC, Med center-like hospital with a community feel.
*Reimburse for certifications, tuitions reimbursement for BSN/Masters
*Free floating charge RN and Management support 24/7.
*All nurses can float to other ICU units (Neuro and CVICU) opportunity to learn other specialties

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education:  Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
• Certified in Basic Life Support
• Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• RN I < 1 year
• RN II = 1-3 years
• RN III = 3-10 years
• RN IV = 10+ years
• Effective oral and written communication skills
