Job Description Manages healthcare resources throughout the continuum of care for patients with apnea or patients at risk for sudden infant death syndrome. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Experience * 2 years of experience in pediatrics or neonatal/newborn Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree Education * High school diploma or equivalent Certification Summary * Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact or Respiratory Care Professional current Georgia license * Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment Job Responsibilities * Manages the ongoing process of case management by providing care to a caseload of patients and families along the continuum of care. * Proactively contacts patient families by prioritization schedule to obtain downloads and introduce services and coordinates with durable medical equipment provider or Apnea Field Technician to obtain download if family is unable to download via telephone. * Independently downloads data via telephone, direct connect, email, or memory card and provides accurate scoring of download data. * Accurately enters data into departmental database and documents in electronic medical record per system policy. * Communicates download results to family via telephone and obtains history as needed. * Communicates with other medical professionals as directed by Apnea Center providers. * Provides 24/7 coverage utilizing rotating on-call schedule. * Coordinates and participates in the ongoing delivery of the educational component. * Effectively troubleshoots equipment and technical problems with monitor and downloading. * Reinforces monitor education and assists in correcting/decreasing false alarms. * Collaborates with durable medical equipment companies and other healthcare professionals to optimize care delivery. * May assist in preparation of download summaries, Apnea Clinic, and car seat challenge testing.
