Murdoch is currently recruiting a Nurse Supervisor II (NSII) located in Alpine Cottage. Alpine Cottage serves an adult population. Typically, people served in this area are non-ambulatory, non-mobile with severe/profound intellectual/developmental disabilities requiring 24-hour-a-day licensed nursing care. Emphasis throughout the day is placed on gross motor activities, basic self-help skills, increased communication skills, and health care needs. Medical concerns include seizure disorders, gastrointestinal problems, neurogenic bladders, and chronic respiratory problems.   The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clinical supervision of nursing services in Royall Cottage.  This Nurse Supervisor supervises full and part-time licensed nurses (RN and LPN); collaborates with the interdisciplinary team; provides professional guidance related to health care services; provides essential nursing coverage; administers medications/treatments; assures provision of minimum nursing coverage; is accountable for assessing nursing needs, developing long and short term goals, setting standards, coordinates and monitors the provision of health care; monitors for quality assurance, plans for utilization of resources, provides training to licensed and unlicensed staff, and collaborates with management to meet the needs of persons served.    Scheduled work hours/shift: 1st shift, 8:00 am - 5:00pm, 5 days/week with some schedule adjustments on all shifts and weekends.
