Job Type: Part Time Job Category: IBCLC Department: Nursing Open Date: September 13, 2023 Close Date: December 30, 2023 MOTHER/BABY - LACTATION CONSULTANT (IBCLC) Part-Time / with alternate weekends Responsibilities * Provide assessment, intervention and education regarding breastfeeding to childbearing families in Maternal Child Services. * Provide lactation consultation to breastfeeding women admitted to any unit in the Medical Center. * Communicate with multidisciplinary team in Maternal Child Services regarding breastfeeding patients. * Document all education and interventions provided to breastfeeding families. * Assist with nursing staff competencies and physician education regarding breastfeeding. * Provide coordination of perinatal education classes. * Collaborate and report to Nurse Manager of Maternity Services. Qualifications Required: * Must have BLS & NRP Certification * Must have a current NY RN license * IBCLC with board certification maintained through examination and/or continuing education * Excellent oral and written communication skills * The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs. A strong sense of accountability. An exceptional focus on teamwork. Dedication to ongoing education. The ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care and service based on a strong sense of patient focus. Preferred: * MSN/MS * Labor and Delivery or Mother/Baby Experience * Experience in lactation consultation in acute care, community or public health setting We offer competitive compensation ($53K plus experience).
