Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant

Job Description * Performs activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. * Demonstrates skillful, courteous competency in procedures for blood sample collection. * Responsible for selecting the best equipment and site for the tests requested. * Serves as an expert venipuncture resource for difficult sticks. * Receives and processes all incoming specimens to prepare them for technical assay. * Ensures the specimens are handled safely and stored under proper conditions for optimal results. * Delivers prepared specimens to appropriate areas in a timely manner, including reference lab specimens. * High School diploma or equivalent preferred * Typically reports to a lead, supervisor or manager.
