Bargaining Unit: UUP The Department of Lab Specimen Collection and Accessioning at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist/Clinical Laboratory Technologist 4. The successful candidate will: * Perform venipuncture and fingerstick collection on inpatients and outpatients * Maintain accurate logs of all venipuncture performed * Process/handle specimens in Central Receiving area * Log specimens via LIS (Cerner) * Participate in all aspects of quality assurance, quality control, patient safety, continuing education and other aspects as needed * Train and aid in the instrumentation of techniques to new personnel and house staff Required Qualifications: * One year of experience in venipuncture and clinical laboratories Preferred Qualifications: * Phlebotomy certification, ASCP certification or equivalent preferred Work Schedule: Variable Days; Variable Hours Salary Grade/Rank: SL-1 Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications Executive Order: Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
