How you'll contribute

A Manager of Infection Control who excels in this role:

The Infection Control Manager is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI), educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements. 

  • Will serve as back up to the employee health RN as needed for employee surveillance and assistance with workers' compensation.
  • Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and planning.
  • Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of healthcare acquired infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis.
  • Monitors local, state, and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies' standards and requirements.
  • Assists with the development of educational resources and initiatives
  • Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred 
  • Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education
  • Current BCLS Certification
  • Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  •  Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives. 
  • Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others. 
  • Varied Business Problems -- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedent and practices. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
