Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor and interpret physiologic and hemodynamic data before, during, and after procedures.
- Continuously assess and document patient condition, reporting changes promptly to physicians and care team members.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure operational readiness and efficient workflow.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinate supplies required for scheduled procedures.
- Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Required
- Active state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
- Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiovascular Lab, or Critical Care setting.
- Strong knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring, cardiovascular procedures, and emergency patient management.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience supporting interventional cardiology or electrophysiology procedures.
- Experience in an acute care hospital environment.
