At Lord Chamberlain, we pride ourselves on fostering a caring, collaborative environment where resident-centered care and professional excellence are at the heart of everything we do. If you thrive in a leadership role, enjoy mentoring and supporting clinical staff, and are passionate about enhancing resident outcomes, we invite you to explore this opportunity further!
As a Unit Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of your unit, guiding nursing staff, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. You'll work closely with facility leadership, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and serve as a clinical leader who helps shape best practices and maintain regulatory compliance. This position offers the chance to grow professionally while making a difference in the lives of residents and your care team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead, supervise, and manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the unit, ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centered care.
• Supervise nursing staff, support personnel, and daily activities in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of resident care.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain appropriate coverage and efficient unit operations.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and training to nursing staff and support personnel, promoting professional growth and consistent standards of practice.
• Conduct rounds and regular assessments to evaluate quality standards, resident care practices, and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with residents, families, physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and facility leadership to support care goals and address concerns.
• Serve as the unit's administrative authority during assigned shifts and act as a key decision-maker in the absence of higher leadership (e.g., DON/ADON).
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership on performance improvement initiatives, quality assurance activities, and regulatory readiness.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care, staff activities, and other required records.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and quality meetings to align unit practices with organizational goals.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff, and contribute to staff performance appraisals.
• Facilitate a safe, respectful, and compliance-focused environment that supports resident well-being and staff engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited college nursing program.
• Current CPR/BLS (or equivalent) certification as required by facility policy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well with residents, families, and the care team.
• Effective organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Compassionate, resident-centered approach, with good organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment (experience preferred).
• Be able to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a resource and leader throughout the unit.
