Job Summary


Assists in administering and coordinating all nursing related services.


Education Requirements


• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or Health Administration.

 

Education Desired

 

• Masters of Science Degree in Nursing or Health Administration preferred.

 

Experience Requirements


• Minimum of three years supervisory nursing experience.


License Requirements


• New York State Registered Nurse License required.

 

Essential Functions

  • Assists the Director of Nursing in coordinating with other departments the total personal and nursing care
    of each Resident.
  • Receives pertinent information from Shift Supervisors and Unit Managers and works closely with them to
    ensure maximum total care of the Residents.
  • Communicates all information pertinent to the total operation of the department to the Director of
    Nursing.
  • Works with Shift Supervisors and Unit Managers to ensure that medical supplies are appropriate and
    available.
  • Works a second and third shift on a monthly basis or as needed to monitor 24-hour quality care and staff
    performance.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in planning and budgeting for the Nursing Department.
  • Contributes to the formulation and revision of the Patient Care Policies Manual and the Nursing
    Procedures Manual.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in maintaining policies and procedures for Pharmaceutical Services and
    their enforcement throughout the facility.
  • Interviews, selects and evaluates staff for the Nursing Department.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in providing nursing staff with information on policies and procedures and
    maintaining communication with all levels of staff.
  • Supervises and coordinates staffing patterns and schedules in order to provide competent care on all units
    and shifts.
  • Cooperates with the Director of Staff Development in planning the nursing aspects of the Inservice
    Program.
  • Assists in completing reports and performs all duties required for the efficient operation of Carmel
    Richmond Nursing Home and the welfare of the Residents.
  • Assumes the duties of the Director of Nursing in her absence.

Pay

Average New York Staff Position Pay

$44.85/hour
