Lead Clinical Laboratory Tech, Blood Bank

The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Blood Bank at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time Lead Clinical Laboratory Tech / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist II. The successful candidate will: * Perform all aspects of blood bank testing, including but not limited to ABO/Rh Typing, Crossmatching, antibody detection, and identification with appropriate follow-ups. * Maintain quality control of equipment and reagents. * Manage meticulous record-keeping and utilizes follow-up skills. * Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications: * New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure * 2+ years of supervisory/administrative capacity experience Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Chemical or Biological Science * 5+ years of supervisory experience * ASCP certification * Prior blood bank work experience Work Schedule: Variable Days; Variable Hours Salary Grade/Rank: SL-3 Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications Executive Order: Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
