Clinical Support Specialist (Nursing)

Title: Clinical Support Specialist (Nursing) Agency: Northern VA Community College Location: Fairfax County - 059 FLSA: Nonexempt Hiring Range: $50/hr Full Time or Part Time: Part Time Additional Detail Job Description: The Clinical Support Specialist will oversee students in their clinical rotations in the hospital setting per the guidelines in place by the college in the adjunct faculty handbook, job description, and course description as well as the guidelines of the organization they are assigned to. Duties and Tasks: * Oversee students in their clinical rotations * Provide support to student during clinical hours Minimum Qualifications: Required KSAs * Flexibility and ability to prioritize and work independently * Excellent interpersonal skills * Excellent analytical skills * Excellent oral/written communication skills * Critical thinking and clinical judgement skills * Ability to use instructional technology * Ability to teach a diverse student population Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree with a major in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution * Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Virginia. * A minimum of 2 years of direct nursing care experience in an in-patient setting. Preferred Qualifications: Additional Considerations * Prior experience teaching in higher education * Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats. * Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment. * Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.
