A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Queens is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and drive resident-centered care across its Nursing Department. This is a full-time, on-site, direct-hire role reporting to the Administrator, with responsibility for regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and survey readiness.

Compensation
$150,000 to $175,000 per year, based on experience and clinical leadership background.

What You'll Do
The Director of Nursing oversees the daily operations and clinical management of the nursing department, ensuring full compliance with federal, CMS, and New York State Department of Health regulations. This person provides direct clinical leadership, supervision, and mentoring to nursing staff, maintains continuous facility readiness for state and federal surveys, and manages staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and ongoing clinical competency. The role also develops and implements evidence-based nursing policies and clinical procedures.

This person serves as an active leader in the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, conducts regular clinical rounds to monitor resident care delivery and staff performance, and addresses staff concerns and clinical complaints in a timely, professional manner. The Director of Nursing collaborates closely with the Administrator and the interdisciplinary team to support a high-performing care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
• Previous Director of Nursing or senior nursing leadership experience in a long-term care setting
• Extensive clinical experience in skilled nursing and long-term care environments
• Strong, in-depth knowledge of New York State DOH regulations, CMS requirements, and survey processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SigmaCare EMR
