Camp Nurse

EF High School Exchange Year is seeking RNs or LPNs to work with international high school exchange students at its camp held on the Muhlenberg College campus in Allentown, PA. EF International High School Camp is a summer camp program with an academic feel where students can prepare and grow in confidence and excitement as they begin their exchange experience. The program sets up students for success by starting their exchange experience in an environment which simulates an American high school experience and enables them to practice real life skills, from their English to communication and cultural adjustments. The ideal candidate: * Has a desire to work with international exchange students, ages 14-18 * Has experience working in a summer camp atmosphere * Has a high emotional intelligence and empathy * Possess excellent communication skills * Is an exceptional team-player and enjoys working with dynamic colleagues * Is able to physically participate in student activities & off campus trips * Is enthusiastic with a sense of humor, positive attitude, patience, and is flexible * Previous experience with EF High School Exchange Year Camp is broken up into two (2) separate sessions and includes staff training as detailed below. Staff arrivals: July 11 Training: July 12-16 Session 1: July 17 - 27 Session 2: July 31 - August 10 Staff departures: August 11 Responsibilities: Camp Nurses provide basic health services (headaches, sprains, splinters, etc.) as needed to students during the program. For more serious situations, nurses will refer students to an urgent care clinic for treatment and staff will arrange for the student to be transported. Nurses (two in total) are members of the Camp Wellness Team; they work alongside on-site EF Student Support Staff report to the Camp Wellness Coordinator for student updates, office needs, and more. Nurses will hold office hours and participate on an on-call schedule with the Camp Wellness Team; this position requires early morning and late evenings. Requirements: Qualified candidates must have an up-to-date nursing license. All staff must complete two online training modules to familiarize themselves with the EF High School Exchange Year program and attend training before student arrivals. Compensation: Nurses will be paid $2,500 per session and are provided with room and board for the duration of the program. EF will make travel arrangements for the nurse or reimburse for mileage. Nurses will also be provided with all necessary materials and reimbursement for licensing in Pennsylvania may be available.
