Requisition No: 828190 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: SENIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE - 64082297 1 Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 64082297 Salary: $2307.69 Bi Weekly Posting Closing Date: 05/02/2024 Total Compensation Estimator Tool Your Specific Responsibilities: * Preforms professional public health nursing duties in the care and treatment of clients in the clinics and community * Interviews, counsels, demonstrates, and teach health principles * Participates in continuing education staff in-service programs and new employee orientation. * Applies nursing principles and techniques in the care and treatment of clients. * Utilizes the EHR accurately and correctly * Participates in the preparation of clinic rooms and equipment. * Participates in immunization programs and assists with communicable disease control. * Assumes responsibility for the case management of high-risk clients and follow up of abnormal test results * Participates in continuing education, in-service, staff meeting and new employee orientation. * Completes and submits required time management documentation * Performs related work as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge in assessing patient health problems and needs * Knowledge in developing and implementing nursing care plans and maintaining medical records * Knowledge of computer software including applications and EHR's * Knowledge of Public Health Practices * Knowledge of medical equipment and instrumentation, room preparation and sterile instruments and related procedures including assisting physicians with procedures * Administers nursing care and advises patients on health maintenance and disease prevention and provides case management * Performs physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as in the physical handling of materials * Communicates effectively with others to convey information, both verbal and written * Public Health Nursing, Outpatient Clinic, OB, Family Planning and/or Immunizations work experience or recent training. Qualifications: Minimum * Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural. * Willing to travel to various locations in Brevard County * Graduate from an accredited RN School and hold a current state Registered Nurse license * Work experience in at least one of the following fields: Public Health Nursing, Outpatient Clinic, Obstetrics, Family Planning and/or Immunizations Florida Department of Health Mission, Vision, and Values: Mission: To protect, promote & improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county & community efforts.
