Surgical Tech II, Foot & Ankle Operating Room

Summary The Surgical Technician II ensures that the Operating Suite is adequately prepared for procedure by preparing instrumentation and equipment. Flexible scheduling options available. Responsibilities * Assists surgeon by passing instruments during operative and invasive procedures. * Maintains sterile technique at all times. * Demonstrates the ability to clean and sterilize all surgical instruments. * Actively participates in all performance improvement activities and team meetings. Requirements * Must possess a high school diploma or GED * Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program * Prefer 2-3 years Surgical Technology experience * Certification Requirements: * Certificate from Surgical Technologist Program or 3 years experience * CPR * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel * Microsoft Outlook * Meditech (if applicable to position) * Epic (if applicable to position) * Performance Manager/NetLearning * Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: * Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. * Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. * Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. * Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. * Other Requirements: * Scrub role in Operating Room * Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. * Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with internal and external customers. * Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. * Must exhibit patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm. * Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. * Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices. * Self-motivated * Participate in National and International investigational trials for intellectual rewards.
