RN Care Coordinator- Pediatric Neurology (Partially Remote)


The RN Care Coordinator (RNCC) provides direct patient care, teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management, and systems improvement on a broad, team approach. The RNCC influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and implementing improvements in health care delivery systems. The RNCC involves expertise in evidence-based nursing and practice in a range of the following, not limited to, pediatric neurology specialty areas: * Concussion/head injuries * Demyelinating disorders, including multiple sclerosis * Developmental plateau or regression * Epilepsy * Encephalitis * Fetal Neurology * Congenital brain malformations * Chiari malformation type 1 and type 2 * Headaches/migraines * Movement disorders, including tremor and Tourette syndrome * Neuromuscular disorders * Neurocutaneous syndromes, including neurofibromatosis * Neurometabolic and neurogenetic disorders, including tuberous sclerosis * Scoliosis * Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) * Stroke Relationship Based Care * Relationship Based Care - Self and Colleagues: reflects the influence of the nurse's relationship with self, colleagues and patient/family on the patient experience. * Relationship Based Care - Patients and Families: reflects the influence of the nurse's relationship with self, colleagues and patient/family on the patient experience. * Expert Caring: encompasses clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordinating and implementation of care. * Empowered Leaders: demonstrate knowledge of and actively participate in shared governance. * Lifelong Learners: encompasses professional development through formal education, professional certification, internal and external learning opportunities and recognizes the value of external professional organizations. Position Compensation Range: $85,820.80 - $113,401.60 Annual MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
