Clinical Dietitian

Job Description: Facilitates the nutrition care process in order to provide the patient with optimal medical nutrition therapy. Schedule Details: * Full Time 30+ hrs/weekly * If patient access is limited, the hours for this position will need to increase. * No weekend, holidays or evening/grave needed. * Normal business hours are 7:30-4:30 M-F. * After the initial shadowing and training period there is an option to work remotely at least 1 day per week. Which can be reevaluated after 6 months, if needed. Scope: * * Counsels and instructs outpatients and/or families providing written instruction materials * Evaluates and documents patient and/or caregiver understanding of diet based on behavioral objectives. * Evaluates, interprets and uses pertinent current research relating to nutrition in order to develop and revise education materials and teaching outlines * Responds to telephone requests/referrals, sending information as appropriate. * Participates in programs and education for staff, patients and community. * Documentation and Billing. * Documents patient visits and bills patients for services according to established policy and procedures. * Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Required Bachelor's degree with dietetic internship or equivalent is required. * Registration with the ADA Commission on Dietitian Registration is required. * Current BLS or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire is required. Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum of 2 years experience * Bariatric Nutritionist preferred * Bilingual-Spanish * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
