Neuroscience/ Elective Spine Surgery- Licensed Graduate Nurse


Position Summary 11 North Tower Neuro-Spine Acute Care Unit is a recognized Spine Center of Excellence. We are a 16-bed unit that trains nurses to provide care for elective and complex surgical patients. Our typical population is the preoperative and postoperative patient receiving elective surgery to the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine, who are mostly ambulatory. In addition, as part of the Orlandos' Level One Trauma Center, we also serve patients that have Neuro-spine needs due to traumatic injuries. We provide an optimal environment and advanced equipment to promote healing and independence. Responsibilities Assess patient's needs and develop individualized plans of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluate the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes. Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers. Functions as a patient and family advocate. Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/ or nurse clinician. Practices effective problem identification and resolution Participate and may lead unit level and/or organizational level committees of nursing practice and performance improvement. Participates in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or role performance. Attends staff development in-services, department meetings, and/or nursing committee meetings. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education: Associates or Bachelors in Science of Nursing. Required Certifications and Licensures: Active FL RN license BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA). American Red Cross BLS will not be accepted. Required Experience: No experience is required for this role. Graduate nurses and experienced nurses are all welcome to apply.
