TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR PATHOLOGY ASST/FLOAT - (Temple/Fox Chase Cancer Center - 40 hours days)


Technical Supervisor Pathology Assistant/Float assists residents and pathologist in processing, dissection and description of gross anatomic findings of submitted specimens in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for the performance of all routine and special procedures within the gross suite; including frozen sections. Duties related to preparation of surgical specimens at all campuses under the TUH Health System including TUH-Main Campus, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Chestnut Hill Hospital, & Temple Women's Health Campus. Trains and supervises as required by Manager and Anatomic Pathology Director. Performs computer data entry and verification of procedures; reports to Manager and performs other duties as assigned. Independently gross complex specimens for example (Hysterometries, Head and Neck resections, etc.). Assists with Autopsies as needed. Possesses technical knowledge of Surgical Pathology procedures as necessary for the supervision of this specialty laboratory section. Responsible for management of gross room and gross room technologists. Consults with Pathology Manager and Anatomic Pathology Director regarding compliance with regulatory standards and changes in procedure and policies. Education Bachelors Degree: Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with 26 science credits with appropriate experience in a CLIA laboratory. (Required) Masters Degree: Pathology (Preferred) Experience 2 Years' experience as a certified pathology assistant (Required) 1 Year experience in a supervisory/leadership role (Required) License/Certifications ASCP - Amer Soc Clinical Pathology (Required) _ '241190
