Nursing Lab Coordinator - Part-time


Guide and assist nursing students who wish and/or need to practice prescribed skills in the Nursing Laboratory outside of their regularly scheduled campus lab periods. Provide assistance to nursing students in practicing prescribed skills, including activities that support the acquisition of skills. Maintain Nursing Laboratory including equipment, supplies, software and simulators. Keep a current directory of all Nursing Laboratory inventory and assist with completion of annual inventory. Set up the supplies and equipment necessary for meeting objectives for campus laboratory, clinical on campus activities, precept, and other learning activities as directed with the assistance of the faculty. Supervise the Nursing Laboratory during the evening hours. Maintain records and schedules of practice sessions and utilization of laboratory hours. Maintain and assist with laboratory inventory, supplies and equipment, including mannequins and simulators. Assist with and monitor audio-visual and computer assisted instructional media. Suggest new capital equipment for utilization in the Nursing Laboratory. Obtain and maintain proficiency in operating equipment in the Nursing Laboratory. Examples include, but are not limited to: mannequins, mid and high fidelity simulators, IV pumps, ventilators, and patient monitoring devices. Perform any additional functions necessary to carry out the activities assigned by the chairperson and/or the assistant chairperson. Provide orientation to Nursing Laboratory to students and instructors, including: policies and procedures, location and use of material, operation of equipment. Document continuing education related to current technical and educational practices. Ensure safe storage of hazardous materials and equipment (e.g. sharps). Qualifications - Education AAS or BS in Nursing Qualifications - Experience Three years experience in clinical (acute care preferred) setting or nursing education Qualifications - Skills 1.Current unencumbered RN license in NJ 2.Up-to-date RN practice 3.Excellent time management, prioritization, and organization skills 4.Ability to utilize all equipment and perform all basic nursing skills 5.Ability to work independently and with others 6.Ability to collaborate with a team. 7.Basic computer proficiency (microsoft office, outlook) 8.Ability to move, lift or carry simulators, manikins, other equipment (30lbs) Work Hours M-Th: 4:00 PM - 9:30 PM - flexibility to cover early afternoon and later evenings when needed.

Pay

$32.04/hour
