The UW Medicine Montlake and Northwest Campus has an opportunity for a Nurse Manager, Radiology . WORK SCHEDULE Full time, day shift. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Function as a liaison between patients, physicians and other healthcare providers Provides leadership and coordination for the Radiology Department Guides and directs the activities of the Staff Nurses, Assistant Managers, Patient Care Technicians and support staff in the designated unit. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Our Radiology/Imaging Services RNs provide radiology care for patients from all areas of UWMC, inpatient and outpatient. RN's who work in our department provide procedural care including IV starts, conscious sedation monitoring and nursing assessment. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Provides Human Resources support hiring staff, development of performance standards Demonstrates excellent customer service that ensures patients and family members are attended to in a professional manner. Supports hospital mission and objectives Monitors high standards/care practice by team Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Recruiting and hiring Supervision and planning Implementation of programs to meet specific patient care needs Focus on continuous improvement of the quality of patient care Planning and management of the unit's budget REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BSN required. 3-5 years experience as a conscious sedation RN in an Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab setting. A minimum of three years nursing leadership in a large hospital setting. Basic computer knowledge (Word and Excel) Demonstrated leadership experience, working collaboratively with medical leadership and staff. Demonstrated ability in process improvement to optimize clinic flow and operations. Demonstrated interpersonal skills in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution, and facilities cooperation and collaboration to meet goals. Demonstrated skill in Human Resources management such that staff are productive and function well as a team. Ability to have tough conversations as needed, counsel staff and utilize corrective disciplinary process as needed. Knowledge of The Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency standards Demonstrated excellence in customer service in daily interactions with patients, family members and medical staff.
