Leads and oversees the direction and supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants (CNA), Registered Nurses (RN), and Registered Nurse Supervisors (RNCA) Serves as a liaison between Operations at the institution and the Health Services Unit Responsible for the continuous operation of medical services at the institution Acts as the designated Health Authority if the facility does not meet the criteria for a Registered Nurse Coordinator (RNC), or there is no RNC/Director of Nursing Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must possess and maintain valid unrestricted Virginia RN license (if you are a recent graduate of a nursing program in VA and not yet licensed, NCLEXRN. Exam must be scheduled at time of application) Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required upon hire Working experience as a supervisor or charge nurse Experience with monitoring staff performance, including the disciplinary process, conducting evaluations, and creation of work duties Knowledge of professional nursing principles and evidence-based practices, to include Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), education/training requirements, and patient safety Knowledge of medication use, actions, and side effects.
