DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The General Educator is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for developing, initiating, and coordinating#programs for new employees. This position also serves as the#Stroke Educator. QUALIFICATIONS # Professional/Educational Registered Nurse with current Illinois License. Bachelor#s degree in nursing required. At least 3 years nursing experience in critical care settings, where#opportunities have been seized to refine competencies in nursing practice as well as to#apply principles and practice of teaching and supervision. Masters degree in nursing or similar healthcare field preferred. DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required. # Personal Maintains good physical and emotional well being. Three or more years assessing, designing, instructing, and evaluating educational programs for adult learners in a clinical setting Proficient writing and communication skills CPR, ACLS ##PALS instructor certification recommended. EKG knowledge and interpretation skills, IV knowledge, and venipuncture skills. Is creative, imaginative and receptive to new methodology.
