Job Summary: La Rabida is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Outpatient Clinic Registered Nurse/(RN) to join our Outpatient nursing department in Chicago, IL. We are a small children's acute care hospital focused on treating complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and abuse and trauma. Our nurses are focused on providing exceptional patient care to children while helping families face unique challenges. The Staff Registered Nurses will report to nursing leadership. The RN role focuses on developing skills to guide him/her over a continuum of basic patient care through more complex assignments and assessing the needs of chronically ill children using effective communication with patients, families, and team members. The RN uses the nursing process in a family-centered interdisciplinary context to coordinate care and achieve team goals. Essential Staff Registered Nurse Functions: * Complete and document initial and ongoing assessments * Carry out interventions and evaluate them against desired goals * Demonstrate Unit specific skills and competencies * Follow the chain of command for problem resolution * Provide patient/family education * Delegate patient care tasks to other members of the team * Approach the care of your patients with a family-centered lens * Work daily to help raise possibilities for our patients * Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote optimal patient outcomes.
