Director Sterile processing (Bronx, NY, Us)

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Director of Sterile Processing Department for Montefiore Medical Center will have direct oversight for all Sterile Processing Department activities performed across Perioperative Services. The incumbent will provide a technically efficient, customer engaging, safe environment for all phases of care using AAMI standards (Decontamination, Assembly, Sterilization, High Level Disinfection, and Case Picking). The incumbent will be responsible for developing the site leadership team, ensuring associate training and education, while supporting service line needs. Directs the administration and coordination of sterile processing and is responsible for ensuring each department provides high quality, efficient, infection preventing, and patient-focused services, compliant with all regulatory requirements. SCHEDULED HOURS: 7 AM-3:30 PM, days vary. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Manager for Sterile Processing or Central Sterile required. * Bachelor's Degree in the physical Sciences, i.e. Chemistry, Biology is required. * Master's Degree preferred. * Certified in Central Sterile Processing - CRCST required. * Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or equivalent leadership certification within 2 years of hire. * Must possess an exceptional understanding of the Perioperative/Surgical Environment, the methods of sterilization, aseptic technique, infection control, practice standardization, and instrument tracking use in a large multi-specialty surgical facility that performs complex surgical procedures.
