Department Overview * Multiple positions available* OHSU is a nationally prominent research university, and Oregon's only public academic health center. For over a decade, OHSU has provided exceptional clinical care to traumatically injured patients. The nurses of the Trauma & Surgical Intensive Care Unit (TSICU) provide exceptional care to traumatically injured patients in Oregon, Southwest Washington and Northern California. The unit also cares for Emergency General Surgery patients, as well as patients from Specialty Surgery Services such as Liver Transplant, EGS, ENT, OB/GYN, Plastics, and Ortho. The unit has a reputation for excellent teamwork and collaboration. The nurses and physicians along with other key members of the health care team work together to ensure patients receive progressive, evidence-based treatment. The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. Required Qualifications * 1-year of current Critical Care experience * BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date. * ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date. * Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire * Internal ONA applicants: Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred * Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License * BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) * BLS must not expire during orientation * Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation Preferred Qualifications * Trauma surgical experience * CCRN or CNRN Additional Details Here are some reasons to be excited about living in Portland: * The Pacific Northwest is an outdoor enthusiast's playground!
