POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates, oversees, and delivers patient care system-wide using an interdisciplinary approach, utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.# Directs and provides patient teaching activities.# Maintains standards of professional nursing practices.# Documents complete and accurate patient information in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements.# Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.# Coordinates family involvement in assessment and treatment of the patient.## EDUCATION/TRAINING: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois and required certification for respective nursing departments.# Bi-annual CPR certification required. Specialty certification in area of concentration preferred. Non-Invasive Cardiology:# CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.# ACLS required within one year of hire. Cath Lab:# ACLS certification required within one year of hire. Emergency Department:# Bi-annual CPR certification required, which is required to be renewed by the recommended renewal date as stated on the card.# RN must obtain the following certifications within 6 months of employment:# ACLS (maintain), PALS (maintain) and CPI.# RN must also obtain and maintain the following certifications within 18 months of employment:# ENPC, TNCC and ECRN. Heart Hospital Nursing Units:# Heart Hospital RN must obtain ACLS with in one year of hire. 9th Floor:# ACLS within one year of hire. Special Care Nursery/Mother Baby:# NRP by end of orientation. Mother Baby:# IBLCC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) or CLC (Certified Lactation Consultant) or MNN (Maternal Newborn Nurse) certification required within 2.5 years of hire.# (NOTE:# Current staff as of 12/03/2020, have until 06/30/2023 to obtain certification) L#D:# ACLS and NRP by end of orientation. Float Pool:# ACLS and PALS within one year of hire, and NRP if floating to Mother Baby. PACU: ACLS and PALS by the end of orientation.
