The Registered Nurse is responsible for resident care using various nursing competencies such as assessments, care planning, implementation of interventions and evaluation of resident needs and care being provided. Support C.N.A.s to ensure resident care standards are being met and maintained. Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Including a gym, fitness classes, onsite banking, Employee Dining Room with discounted meals and an award-winning Child Development Center with a generous employee discount for both full and part-time employees! * Educational Assistance: We support your continuing education and career advancement by offering tuition reimbursement, for both full and part-time employees! * Paid Time Off: Can be earned by both full and part-time employees! * "Breathing Space Room" that has massage chairs, a Zen garden, self-care books, music, lights, etc. The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: * Must have strong clinical skills * Ability and knowledge to care for geriatric residents * Assess, implement, evaluate and /or re-evaluate resident care needs * Provide direction and assign daily duties to nursing staff * Act as a resource for staff concerning resident care and needs and keep management abreast of the status * Implement physician orders and administer medications and treatments * Participate and comply with all internal CQI and external regulatory requirements * Document pertinent information in resident's chart such as nursing interventions, any problems noted, limitations of resident or significant change in resident's mood, behavior, affect or cognition * Meet all documentation standards and follow through with all charting requirements * Use and adapt to new technologies, including tools, equipment, methods of application, computerized system, SARA communication system (resident call system) and etc., to impact productivity of department and services; keep job-required technical skills up to date * Collaborates with resident, family and team to formulate individualized care plan * Work collaboratively with the team and management to coordinate care and manage outcomes * Implement appropriate care to meet spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs * Act as an advocate for residents, staff and others and treats others with respect * Positive attitude and initiative * Ability to multi-task and work as a team as well as independently * Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend and squat frequently, lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance. Required Education and Experience * Valid license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia in good standing * CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
