Supervisor / Point of Care Testing Coordinator, Clinical Lab Services

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Supervisor / Point of Care Testing Coordinator, Associate Technical Director. The successful candidate will: * Maintain compliance with departmental, hospital and regulatory requirements. * Coordinate Point of Care testing program. * Supervise day to day laboratory operations, review quality control, and performance improvement activities. * Assure timely performance of laboratory testing procedures. * Train personnel in technical methodologies and interpretation of results. * Record and archive operational tests and QC results. * Maintain inventory and statistics. * Schedule and assign staff to specific job functions. * Assist in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratories. * Demonstrate flexibility to the needs of the business as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description. Required Qualifications: * 5+ years of supervisory experience in hospital-based laboratories. * New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Sciences. * ASCP certification. Work Schedule: Variable Days; Variable Hours Salary Grade/Rank: SL-5 Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: An approved COVID-19 vaccination.
