Gulf Comprehensive Surgery Center, a Covenant Physician Partner, is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse located in Englewood, FL. About the Opportunity Under general direction from Center Manager, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of the patient. The registered nurse is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Performs patient preparation, including but not limited to: review of medical history, acquisition of appropriate consents, measuring vital signs, starting IV, administering medications, and setting up appropriate monitors. * Assists in relieving patient's apprehension before and during administration of IV sedation or anesthesia. * Verifies that essential equipment is functioning properly each day. * Identifies the patient and correct procedural intervention according to policy/procedure and communicates such information to all members of the surgical team. * Assesses and monitors patients before, after and throughout all phases of care, demonstrating competency with all monitoring equipment. * Documents patient care records and other forms accurately following policies and procedures. * Transports and positions patients observing policies/procedures, safety requirements, and patient needs. * Maintains patient safety, and ensures a clean, orderly environment throughout the Center. * Performs the circulating nurse's role/functions following approved operating/procedure room procedures to meet the requirements of scheduled procedures. * Performs Conscious Sedation functions per state regulations and if applicable at the center upon completion of training and validation of competencies. * Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments before start of procedure and positions and adjusts equipment as required during the procedure * Assists physicians in all procedures. About the Candidate Minimum Requirements: * Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or a compact state with an unencumbered license. * BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred Qualifications: * Three (3) or more years of experience in a surgical or procedure healthcare setting. * Critical care, Emergency Room, or recovery experience. * Endoscopy experience highly desirable.
