Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Emergency Department # # Position Purpose:Provides consultative, educational and resource services to the nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to enhance clinical performance and facilitate quality patient care outcomes. Assists in coordination of day-to-day operations. # Works as Permanent Charge Nurse implementing the plan of care; within the concepts of the Licensed Registered Nurse curriculum; with consideration for safety in practice; according to established prioritization of needs; documenting and communicating nursing interventions and responses of patient(s) to care.# Evaluates patient(s) responses to nursing care rendered; documents and communicates evaluation data to appropriate health care team members; contributes to the modification of the nursing plan of care based on ongoing evaluation.# Coordinates orientation of new staff to ensure clinical competence. Assist with orientation of float and agency personnel.# Assists in holding staff accountable for hospital, nursing and unit policies and procedures, competencies and process improvement initiatives.# Assists in the education and preparation of nursing staff for accreditation visits ( IDPH # TJC).# Coordinates unit based staffing assignments on a shift by shift basis to achieve high quality and cost-effective care.# # Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital#s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.# Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.# Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.# Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.# General Job Requirements : Excellent communication skills including negotiation skills; must be persistent and persuasive. 3yrs of experience as a Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor Bachelor Degree Active RN License in the State of Illinois without restriction Active BLS Must be able to establish rapport and effective working relationships with physicians and Staff. Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload within tight deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation. Ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and make decisions relating to assigned tasks. Very strong customer service orientation, positive attitude, highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented. # Ability to work Full Time, 80 hours per week. Proof of Full vaccination against Covid-19 required Proof of Current vaccination against Influenza required.
