Position Overview: The Clinical Coordinator RN for the Immunization Program is a dynamic and integral role at the Harris County Public Health Department. This position entails comprehensive management of the Immunization (VFC and Private) and Communicable Disease Programs, focusing on assessing, planning, coordinating, and enhancing these programs. The role requires a proactive approach to healthcare, aligning program operations with public health goals. The Clinical Coordinator RN is also responsible for supervising nursing personnel, ensuring adherence to policy standards, and participating in developing and delivering training programs for staff and other immunization providers. Duties & Responsibilities: * Program Coordination and Evaluation: Coordinate and direct the primary nursing activities of the Immunization Programs, including both VFC and Private initiatives, and evaluate their effectiveness. * Reporting and Collaborative Administration: Provide regular monthly reports on program activities and collaborate closely with clinic administration for effective nursing supervision, training, and clinical service delivery. * Staff Supervision and Professional Development: Supervise nursing personnel, including Immunization Compliance nurses and Perinatal Hepatitis B RNs, advising on professional growth, advanced training, and education and ensuring adherence to policy standards. * Performance Monitoring and Employee Evaluation: Monitor nursing performance against set standards, perform employee evaluations, and maintain proper licensures. * Program Assessment and Policy Implementation: Assess local Immunization Program needs and performance, recommend and implement necessary policies and procedures for program enhancement. * Training Program Development and Orientation: Develop, direct, and monitor training programs for staff and other Immunization providers, and participate in the orientation and training of new employees and nursing students. * Liaison and Training Collaboration: Act as a liaison with DHS and other training organizations, addressing program and community training needs.
