Sr. Occupational Health Nurse - TC Employee Health


Job Summary We are searching for a Sr. Occupational Health Nurse (RN) with our Employee Health department -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide quality and comprehensive nursing care to employees for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses which includes assessment, intervention, and evaluation. This role requires you to provide health maintenance and health promotion to ensure that employees are able to successfully perform their job requirements. You will coordinate employee testing and immunization programs. You will also utilize electronic medical record and other computer programs to accurately track, analyze and report on employee health data. Think you've got what it takes? Responsibilities * Conducts pre-placement health assessments * Provides acute injury and illness treatment for non-occupational events * Provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation follow-up of occupational injury or illness * Provides an employee immunization and testing program * Conducts wellness programs for employees * Maintains confidential documents of employee health records * Evaluates effectiveness and scope of employee health services * Conducts medical surveillance * Gathers research data related to Occupational Health nursing from employee records while maintaining confidentiality 100% of the time Qualifications Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the Covid-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption. * Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement required, or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN * Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact * BLS certification from the American Heart Association required * 3 years of Occupational RN experience required * Previous experience in Occupational Health, school nursing or ER helpful * Proficiency in EMR software systems preferred Company Profile Since 1954, Texas Children's has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
