Job Summary * Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. * Deliver excellent nursing care through evaluations, planning, implementation, and documentation while serving a diverse patient population with complex concerns. * Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. * Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. * Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ortho/Trauma Department Overview: * 30 bed adult and geriatric surgical unit that primarily cares for the following patient population: Orthopedic patients, trauma patients, neurosurgical patients, joint replacement patients, and medical overflow patients.
