Lake Burien - Nurse Supervisor   Be a part of something new! The Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility is being stood up by Washington state's Department of Social and Health Services, the Department of Children, Youth and Families, Health Care Authority with generous support from MultiCare and Seattle Children's Hospital.  The Nurse Supervisor will lead subordinate registered nurses and nursing service personnel on a shift within the developmental disabilities administration Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility. You will have the responsibility of ensuring staffing levels, supervision, and training for assigned shifts. As the Nurse Supervisor you will perform specialized nursing tasks such as in-service instruction quality assurance utilization review relief coverage. You will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team, which is responsible for implementing a therapeutic environment/milieu through effective management of treatment strategies, proactive interventions, and monitoring health needs. Contribute to the rehabilitation of youth residents and addresses their complex needs. The facility will open with 12 beds and 108 full-time employees with potential growth to 24 beds and 196+ full-time employees.  The property was designed with children and youth in mind and features accessible spaces for onsite educational services and therapies, as well as access to outdoor space. The voluntary facility will initially serve 12 youth.  This new therapeutic facility is slated to open in July to help youth, age 13 and older, with co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities who have complex needs such as mental illness or substance use disorder.   Shift is M-F, 8-5  Some of what you will do * Develop unit nursing care policies and procedures in conjunction with other unit supervisors * Participate in the development and review of individual habilitation plans for residents of a developmental disability's facility * Participate in the development of in-service education for the unit; teaches new employees nursing techniques and policies * Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality assurance program * Participate in establishing, implementing, and evaluating unit goals development and implementation of the budget * Observe medication administration and Med pass * Serve as relief for the 24-hour supervisors and have responsibility for several charge nurse * Participate in unit, departmental and other committees * Other duties as assigned What we are looking for * A valid Washington State license to practice as a registered, professional nurse. Desirable Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing AND two years of professional nursing experience. OR Equivalent education/experience.   Preferred Skills and Abilities * Ability to work within a team and resolve personal conflicts in a calm, non-threatening manner. * Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. * Experience working with psychiatric Youth/Children. * Knowledgeable of psychiatric symptoms. * Ability to teach, coach, and mentor others.
