JOB SUMMARY: The Community Pharmacist works collaboratively with members of the pharmacotherapy department to improve patient health in MAHEC Community pharmacies by providing pharmacy services at Biltmore and Enka/Candler pharmacy locations. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care services related to medication access, vaccine administration, and may include implementation support of new pharmacy services at the Biltmore and Enka/Candler locations. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provides community and retail pharmacy services to patients at Biltmore and Enka/Candler. * Responsible for vaccine administration and other clinical pharmacy services delivered in a community pharmacy setting. * Responsible for patient care that supports meeting value based care metrics in the pharmacy * Provide age specific pharmaceutical care services. * Nutritional support. * Drug therapy monitoring including allergies, drug/drug interactions, drug/food interactions, and, ADR reporting (including database maintenance and intervention documentation). * Drug and dosage form selection and suggestion. * Drug dosage and pharmacokinetic calculations. * Provision of drug information. * Provide education and training for Pharmacy staff and students, Nursing staff and students, Medical staff and students, and patients and families. * Maintains strong working relationships with Pharmacy staff to maintain high morale and promotion of the organization. SPECIFIED SKILLS * COMPUTER * Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications required. * FOREIGN LANGUAGE * Spanish speaking skills preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Light - Moderate energy level: Lift and carry 25 - 35 lbs, Push/Pull 50 - 100 lbs (empty bed, stretcher, etc.) * Occasional (0 - 33% of Workday) SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Not Applicable. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in the state of North Carolina. * Minimum of one year of clinical and/or community retail experience. * PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with advanced training (Pharm.D.). * Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency in pharmacy practice, community, geriatrics, or ambulatory care. * Experience teaching and working collaboratively with other health care professionals and pharmacy students * Board certification preferred. REQUIRED LICENSES: * Registered Pharmacist with an active and unencumbered license to practice in North Carolina or meets eligibility requirements for endorsement by the Board of Pharmacy. SCHEDULE: Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per work week; Pharmacies are closed Weekend, holiday, or evening hours may be required to meet patient care needs or during department emergency. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader. MAHEC pharmacies are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day before Christmas, Christmas Day
