CT Technologist - Supplemental Tier B


Under general supervision, performs all CT procedures.# Operates computed tomography and radiography equipment to obtain quality diagnostic images.# Prepares examination area, positions patient for procedures and adjusts imaging equipment to correct setting for examinations done within the CT department.# Assists physicians in the performance of examinations.# # Education Completion of two (2) years post-high school training in an approved school of diagnostic imaging Experience Two (2) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist or one (1) year experience in computed tomography Skills ######### Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures ######### Analytical skills necessary to effectively utilize knowledge of computed tomography techniques and methods, and cross-sectional anatomy Licensures, Certifications ######### Must have passed a qualifying examination given by an appropriate credentialing agency. ######### National registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and state licensure through the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance. ######### Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification). Physical Requirements ######### Ability to pay close attention to detail with many distractions during procedures for approximately sixty percent (60%) of work time. ######### Ability to stand and walk for up to eighty percent (80%) of the work time, and to lift and position patients up to thirty percent (30%) of the work time. ######### Manual dexterity and visual ability to set up and operate all computed tomography equipment, to assist physicians during procedures, and to operate the CRT, etc. Working Conditions ######### Normal patient care environment with occasional exposure to patients with possible infectious diseases. ######### Frequent exposure to radiation with little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed. ######### Work requires operation and monitoring of CRT for extended periods of time. Conditions of Employment ######### Must maintain national registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and state licensure through the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
