Assistant Supervisor, Clinical Labs - Virology & Molecular Pathology

The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Virology and Molecular Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Science University is seeking a full-time Assistant Supervisor / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 1. The successful candidate will: * Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or protocols conducted by the Virology and Microbiology Laboratories. * Function as Assistant Supervisor, responsible for the operation of a laboratory. * Demonstrate responsibility for the day to day laboratory operations, review of quality control, and performance improvement activities. * Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Virology and Microbiology instruments. * Maintain compliance with departmental, hospital and regulatory requirements. * Demonstrate flexibility and perform other related job duties as business need requires, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above job description. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Science. * New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure. Preferred Qualifications: * ASCP certification preferred. * Microbiology experience preferred.
