Clinical Specialist - Pediatric Acute Care


Job Summary We are searching for a Clinical Specialist - Pediatric Acute Care -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will demonstrate theoretical and clinical expertise in the physical, psychosocial, developmental, and educational aspects of nursing care for specified patient populations and their families as outlined in the unit profiles. The Clinical Specialist works interdependently with and independently of the multi-disciplinary team. The Clinical Specialist is dedicated to promoting optimal patient/family care with the ultimate goal of enhanced patient/family outcomes. Think you've got what it takes? Responsibilities * Collaborates with the health care team to assist in planning, implementation of and evaluation of the treatment approach utilizing theoretical knowledge, sound judgment and problem-solving * Acts as a clinical resource to staff and other members of the health care team seeking to improve quality and safety of patient care * Provides consultative services to health care providers, patient, families within the institution * Serves as an educational resource for the patient and family, community and other health care professionals * Participates in the efforts of the Quality Outcomes Program and/or unit-based quality initiatives by coordinating, developing, implementing, and monitoring quality initiatives that promote clinical outcomes and demonstrate nursing excellence * Supports and facilitates the attainment of institutional goals and strategic plan Qualifications Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption. * Master's degree in nursing required * RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact required * BLS certification from the American Heart Association required * 4 years nursing experience for specified patient population required Company Profile Since 1954, Texas Children's has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
