Central Sterile Technician


* Highs School Graduate or GED * Successful completion of Central Sterile Supply Technician Program * For Incumbents: Complete ten (10) hours of continuing education credits in order to remain qualified to perform the functions of a Central Sterile Supply Technician * Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) - Required Effective January 1, 2015 * Incumbents to the Position as of January 1, 2015: Provides evidence was employed as Central Service Technician in healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one (1) year, occurring within the four (4) years immediately prior to January 1, 2015. Under direct supervision, the Central Sterile Supply Technician performs a variety of work involving the decontamination, preparation, packaging, processing, sterilization, storage and distribution of medical devices, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation according to prescribed procedures and techniques. .
